A defence export is any defence-specific or dual-use good, or service, exported by the Australian defence industry, including as part of a supply chain, that is intended for a defence or national security end-user.
Who can we support?
As Australia's export credit agency, we support Australian defence businesses across sectors including air, land, sea and cyber security. Support may be available for export opportunities as well as projects that strengthen Australia's sovereign defence capabilities and self-reliance, consistent with the priorities of the 2026 Defence Industry Development Strategy.
Supporting Government strategic priorities
The Australian Government's 2026 Defence Industry Development Strategy is focused on strengthening Australia's sovereign defence industrial base, building self-reliance and supporting defence industry growth and export success.
We can support these priorities by providing financing solutions to the Australian defence industry and administering the US$3 billion Defence Industry Growth Facility on behalf of the Australian Government.
The Defence Industry Growth Facility modernises and expands the former Defence Export Facility, providing more flexible financing support for significant defence industry projects, including export opportunities and projects that contribute to Australia's sovereign defence capabilities.
