The Senior Manager Portfolio Management – Business Finance is responsible for delivering the key credit analytical activity associated with mid-market transactions and on occasion managing a portfolio of customers throughout the credit lifecycle.

Position description
- Manage credit analysis and assessments throughout the customer lifecycle from initial transaction assessments and writing new deals through to requests for variations, renewals and repeat business.
- Deliver credit analysis and assessments in compliance with EFA’s credit policies and procedures and risk appetite, and within appropriate timeframes.
- Manage a portfolio of customer files, applying knowledge of the local export market to the analytical activity required to service those customers through the deal lifecycle.
- Monitor compliance of client covenant and reporting issues, escalate where required.
- Work in collaboration with the Business Development and Transaction Execution and Structuring team to manage customer interactions through new business and servicing throughout the customer lifecycle, ensure proactive engagement with customers.
- Identify facilities with deteriorating risk profiles and work with Associate Directors/Directors to ensure appropriate action is taken to manage the facility. Assist with the escalation of issues and implementation of loss-minimalisation strategies where required.
- Engage with Credit to discuss papers prepared, articulate reasoning for structuring decisions, support analysis with evidence.
- Work with the Lending Operations team to manage all administrative and operational aspects of the portfolio, including drawdowns, repayments, exposures.
- Coach, guide, and mentor junior Portfolio Management – Business Finance Analysts to navigate credit environment effectively and create positive customer experiences.
About you
- Degree qualifications in Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Banking/Finance or Business and/or relevant technical disciplines.
- 5+ years financing experience across business and/or corporate banking or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio balancing the interests of customers and the lender.
- Degree of adherence to transaction processes and controls, including escalations, approvals, and delegations for credit decisioning.
- Adherence to risk tolerance, credit processes and established standards and timeframes when preparing credit assessments.
- Contribution towards growth aligned to SME targets for existing customers such as renewals and new business from existing customers.
- Delivery / closing of transactions within agreed turnaround time.
