Working with us
It is important to understand:

Our Australian benefit requirements

Our environmental and social obligations

How we work with your bank or financial provider
Australian benefit
We support Australian exports of goods and services and overseas infrastructure development in our region with our financial solutions.
Prior to providing our financial support, we must confirm that there is benefit flowing to Australia in connection with the transaction.
An important source of Australian benefit is the economic activity stimulated in Australia by the presence of Australian content associated with a project or transaction. Australian content constitutes all inputs to a project or transaction that do not originate overseas.
We also take into account other benefits to Australia. These other benefits can include, but are not limited to:
- Australian content (goods or services) in a project
- greater Australian participation in international supply chains
- access to new markets or export opportunities for Australian businesses
- more Australian jobs
- payment of dividends or other financial proceeds from overseas to Australia
- new research and development expenditure in Australia
- Australian access to new products, intellectual property or technology

Environmental and social requirements
We are committed to supporting the growth of Australian businesses internationally in a way that is ethically, environmentally and socially responsible.
The type of environmental and social review we undertake is determined by the type of support you need, the nature of the project and the role of your business. Some transactions need only a short, desktop review, while others may require a detailed risk evaluation involving benchmarking and public disclosure.
Click here for more details on our environmental and social review.
Working with your bank
We provide Australian businesses with finance solutions by working with banks and other financial institutions to provide complementary finance or when private market providers are unable to do so. We do not compete with banks.
We lend on a commercial basis and will need to confirm that private sector financing options are not available.
Some of the reasons why bank financing may be unavailable include:
- your business is in a high growth stage
- you may not have the level of security needed by the bank
- your transaction is in an emerging market.
